ELECTROENCEFALOGRAPHY (EEG)

Gtec g.Nautilius Wireless EEG (32 Channels)

EMOTIV EPOC+ EEG (14 Channels)

With EEG, bioelectrical currents that are collected in the cortex and spread to the scalp from the structures surrounding the brain are measured by means of electrodes placed on the hairy area.

These bioelectric signals are defined as the information carried by neurons.

EEG is ahead of all brain imaging devices today in terms of temporal resolution. While the EEG can measure the brain's response to the stimulus with a delay of 5 milliseconds, the temporal resolution advantage of the EEG is more clearly understood when it is taken into account that fMRI devices can reveal the brain's responses to the stimulus with a delay of 1.5-2 seconds. In this way, in studies using EEG, it is possible to measure the emotional changes of the consumer at the level of milliseconds during the display of the advertisement and to determine at which point the consumer interest begins to deteriorate.

In addition to the explanations above, thanks to the EEG measurements synchronized with the eye-tracking systems, it can be determined which parts of the design of the billboard or the slogan used when the individuals are looking at a billboard or logo, and which parts they like.

ELECTROMYOGRAPHY (EMG)

Libelium MySignals SW BLE Complete Kit (eHealth Medical Development Platform for Arduino)

It measures and records the electrical activities associated with muscle contractions against the stimulus. It is used in the measurement of human movements by evaluating the muscle response and level in the tissue. It obtains the results of electrical changes in muscles and nerve endings with conductors placed in muscle areas without electrical stimulation. Measurement of facial and upper body muscle activity are priority areas of application. It is used to measure and evaluate the physiological properties of facial muscles. It examines the voluntary or involuntary movements of facial muscles that reflect emotional expressions. It enables the activities of facial muscles, which are used effectively in basic emotional expressions, to be recorded as bipolar (on both sides of the face) via surface electrodes. Even when people are asked to prevent facial expressions, precise measurements can be made that define the change of movements that are not noticed by visual observation.

EYE TRACKING

Gazepoint GP3HD Desktop

Eye-tracking systems: equipment monitors pupil sizes and eye movements with an infrared beam. It consists of additional software that interprets the data obtained in this way by grouping them.  Eye-tracking; for neuromarketing, occupational safety, optimization of production systems, simulation design, and attention level measurement; is a simultaneous method that is frequently used in fields such as educational sciences, industrial design, and psychology.

GALVANIC SKIN RESPONSE (GSR)

Schimmer3 GSR+ Unit

Skin conductivity analysis (GSR) is based on the principle of measuring the electrical activity on the skin surface. Sweat glands become active in mood changes. Accordingly, the balance of positive and negative ions on the skin surface changes. Thanks to the follow-up of this change with GSR, it is possible to have information about the process experienced by the individual.

ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY (ECG)

Libelium MySignals SW BLE Complete Kit (eHealth Medical Development Platform for Arduino)

Electrocardiography (ECG) monitors the electrical changes caused by the movements of the heart muscle with electrodes placed in the chest area. ECG; It is a complementary measurement method that provides data for determining emotional states such as stress and relaxation by monitoring pulse, heart rate and rhythmic irregularities.

THERMAL IMAGING

FLIR A8200sc, 50mm lens

The thermal imaging device, which displays and measures invisible infrared wavelengths, creates a heat map by taking into account the changing temperature data in a certain environment. Device; It has a wide range of uses including the defense industry, maritime, production processes, architectural building inspections, tissue damage determinations, and electrical control processes. Within the scope of behavioral science, the thermal imaging device is used to define and monitor the instantaneous mood state depending on the changes in the body temperature of the blood flow, heart rhythms and muscle-based actions of the individuals through learning algorithms.

COMPLEMENTARY MEASUREMENT

Libelium MySignals SW BLE Complete Kit (eHealth Medical Development Platform for Arduino)

Complementary measurement devices are used to increase the reliability and validity of the results obtained with other sensors. In this way, it is possible to clearly reveal the consumer emotional states in the results obtained.
  • Complementary measurement methods available:
  • Glucometer
  • SpO2
  • Blood pressure
  • body position
  • Spirometer
  • Airflow

MIMIC ANALYSIS

Mimic analysis, also known as facial coding hardware and software, detects facial muscle movements based on subconscious reactions and measures the instantaneous emotions of individuals under certain situations in real-time. Specifically, mimic analysis, which measures micro-expressions, provides the categorization of unconsciously triggered emotional states by revealing the visual outputs of momentary facial muscles that develop due to emotions.
